Woman sexually assaulted, then pushed from car, police say

A woman was attacked in a car, then pushed out of the vehicle in an alleged sexual assault on a quiet Bedford road early Sunday morning, police said. Bedford police Sergeant Paul Saunders said the woman was left on the side of Dudley Road, a residential street, just after 4 a.m. Sunday. Emergency responders aided the woman then took her to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officials found the crashed car suspected of being used in the alleged attack about a half mile away, just over the Billerica line. Billerica police and a Burlington police dog assisted in the investigation. Two men who went to the car about 7 a.m. were taken into custody for questioning, but Saunders said no charges had been filed Sunday night. Police impounded the car and were seeking a search warrant Sunday, Saunders said.
