A federal appeals court in Boston that last month denied Salvatore F. DiMasi’s appeal of his corruption conviction and sentence has denied the former House speaker’s request for a rehearing before the same panel. The decision from the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit came down Thursday, according to a legal filing. DiMasi, 68, is battling cancer and being held at a prison in North Carolina, records show. He is scheduled to be released in November 2018, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website.Travis Andersen can be reached at email@example.com. Follow him on Twitter @TAGlobe.
