The Billerica Board of Health next month will offer flu shots for town residents. The vaccine will be free, with the cost covered by a grant. The town’s first flu clinic, for any resident who is 60 or older and those who are 18 or older with a chronic health condition or pregnancy, is scheduled from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Council on Aging, 25 Concord Road. A second clinic, for residents age 18 or older, is scheduled to take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 19 at Town Hall Auditorium, 365 Boston Road. For children who need a flu shot or the nasal flu mist, call the Board of Health at 978-671-0931 or check with the child’s school nurse to find out when the vaccine will be administered during school hours. Residents attending one of the town’s flu clinics are asked to bring their health insurance cards. No appointment is needed. For more information, call public health nurse Christine West at 978-671-0932. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
