The Caouette Farm property in South Acton has gained protection against development under a perpetual conservation restriction recently completed by the Sudbury Valley Trustees and the Acton Conservation Trust. The 8½-acre property along Stow, Maple, and Martin streets includes agricultural fields, shorefront along a large pond, wetlands, and woodlands. The eastern edge of the property is next to the future terminus of the Assabet River Rail Trail. The town purchased the property about three years ago for $1 million.
