Housed in the former Lewis’ Restaurant and Oyster Bar just east of the Ipswich town line, Castle Kreek is owned by the same folks who run the popular Sylvan Street Grille in Danvers and the Bradford Tavern in Rowley. Several friends had visited since its midsummer opening, and the reviews were generally positive. But our recent experiences left us feeling unfulfilled.
Stick to the pub basics, including burgers, sandwiches, and salads, and you’ll get a decent bang for your buck. Go for the specialty cocktails or kitchen “favorites,” and you’re rolling the dice. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
