A group of residents supporting plans to build a $1 billion resort casino in Milford held their first public meeting on Thursday, making their presence known with a rally attended by hundreds of supporters ready to work, according to organizers.
The rally at the Milford Portuguese Club was the first public display of organized support for the project planned by Foxwoods for land on the east side of town on the border with Holliston off Route 16 and Interstate 495.
But members of Casino-Free Milford, who oppose the project, say they have facts that Foxwoods will not be the good business partner or neighbor they have said they’ll be, and are prepared to reveal those facts at their own forum on Oct. 30, according to Geri Eddins, a representative of the group.
