Bowling alley aims for Patriot Place

Selectmen have hired the Quincy-based law firm Murphy, Hesse, Toomey & Lehane LLP to review a request for a liquor license for Splitsville, a Florida-based bowling alley chain hoping to open an outpost at Patriot Place. Last month, the five-member town board approved a business trip for Police Chief Ed O’Leary to travel to Orlando to learn more. The trip would be paid for by mall owner The Kraft Group. A number of mall expansion plans have been floated in the last year, including a three-building plan to add another hotel, a large retail store, and a “quick-serve” restaurant, as well as a proposal calling for hundreds of housing units and several restaurants, a move that would require a zoning change and the approval of eight additional liquor licenses.
