An old box of silverware was recently found in some dirt outside of St. Bonaventure Church, and Plymouth police are trying to figure out where it came from. It was found in a “sloppy, muddy” area where the new St. Bonaventure church is being built, according to Police Captain John W. Rogers Jr., who believes the silverware may have been stolen some time ago. “They’re building a new church, so there’s a lot of [construction] activity going on over there,” said Rogers, in a telephone interview. “My guess is that it might be from a break and they ditched it in this particular location.” Rogers said the silverware is intact, and the box is worn and rotted. He would not speculate how old it is. Police are waiting to see if anyone with knowledge of missing cutlery comes forward. “We’re holding it as found property,” Rogers said.
