As one of the communities along the Boston Marathon route, Framingham has 25 official entries available to adult runners who are either residents or municipal or school employees, and willing to raise at least $500 (with an ultimate target of $2,000) for local charities, programs, and causes. Forms are available via the town’s website, www.framinghamma.gov, and in the Board of Selectmen’s office in the Memorial Building, 150 Concord St. The deadline to submit completed forms with the required $325 Marathon entry fee is 4 p.m. Dec. 4. If more than 25 people wish to run on behalf of the town, a public drawing will be held on Dec. 5. The Boston Athletic Association, which oversees the annual event, provides each of the host communities with invitational entries to allocate as they wish. Framingham officials would like each runner to pair up with a mentor to train for the 26.2-mile race on April 21, and attend a town-sponsored fund-raising workshop.
