Man charged in dragging death of Wrentham motel manager held on $3,000 bail

A 22-year-old Norwood man was ordered held on $3,000 bail today after his arraignment on charges that after an altercation with motel staff about illegal use of a room, he struck a manager with his pickup truck and dragged her for three miles, killing her.

Moses Acloque, who is charged in the death of 58-year-old Kanchanben Patel, was arrested after a state trooper spotted him driving erratically. The trooper initially thought Acloque was dragging a deer carcass under his pickup truck, according to a police report.

Acloque was arraigned this morning in Wrentham District Court on multiple charges, including leaving the scene of an accident causing death, prosecutors said.
