ibrary officials are reminding residents about their Food For Fines program this holiday season. Through Dec. 12, the library is accepting nonperishable food in lieu of fines. Each item donated will be considered equal to $1 of a fine. All the food collected will be donated to My Brother’s Table, which runs a meals program in Lynn for people in need. Theresa Hurley, library director, said the library had a Foods for Fines program during the holidays in the past and she hopes to make it an annual event once again. “It’s a way for people to clear up their library debts while doing something positive for the community,” she said. For more information contact the library at 781-595-0567 or visit its Facebook page at Lynn Public Library.
