John Clarkeson is in charge of the student interns at the state Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Policy, so he’s always on the lookout for bright young people with an interest in the environment. That’s why he jumped at a chance to speak to the Cohasset Center for Student Coastal Research next month, he said in an interview. Clarkeson, a Scituate resident who also oversees the state’s dam and seawall fund, will talk about current issues in environmental policy, especially relating to climate change in the free lecture, which starts at 7 p.m. on Dec. 11. But he’s also hoping to interest some of the students involved with the Cohasset center in applying for internships with the state environmental agency, he said.
