Yale University’s campus in New Haven, Conn., was locked down for more than six hours today due to reports of an armed person, but an intensive search by law enforcement did not find a gunman, according to the school.

The New Haven Police Department received an anonymous call placed from a phone booth off-campus around 9:48 a.m., claiming the caller’s “roommate” had a gun on the Yale campus, a college official said.
