A Boston police vehicle responding to a shooting was struck by another vehicle in Dorchester, sending three undercover Boston police officers and two civilians to the hospital Wednesday night, according to authorities.

The undercover officers were heading to a call on the shooting in the area of Elmore and Munroe streets in Roxbury with activated lights and sirens when a vehicle struck them at about 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ashmont Street and Dorchester Avenue, police said. The officers and two occupants from the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

In the shooting, one person suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and another was in custody, police said.
