Holiday carolers will have to wait until next year to try to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for having the largest group singing in one place at one time. About 1,500 people showed up to sing “Jingle Bells” last Saturday at City Hall. Many of them donned a Santa cap to sing the popular carol, which was penned in Medford. But the crowd was not nearly enough to break the record set on Dec. 3, 2004, when 7,514 carolers sang at Bob Jones University in South Carolina, according to Guinness.
