Chelsea police investigating death of Revere woman, 40, as a homicide, officials say

A Revere woman found suffering from serious injuries this morning on Broadway in Chelsea has died, and authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying her assailant, officials said.

Police are investigating her death as a homicide.

The woman, who was in her 40s, was found lying in the street shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday. Witnesses told police she had been walking from the area of Everett Avenue when she collapsed, according to a statement from Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley and Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes.

Emergency medical technicians rushed the woman to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead around 6:30 a.m., officials said.

The nature of her injuries were not immediately available.

“We are at a critical point in the investigation so we are withholding some information,” said Jake Wark, spokesman for Conley.
