A Brandeis University team that visited a Palestinian campus where a controversial student rally led Brandeis to suspend a decade-old partnership with the institution has concluded that Al-Quds University acted quickly and appropriately in the wake of the demonstration and that the relationship should be restored.
“Our clear impression from the five days we spent at Al-Quds University was of a leadership that was angry and appalled by the character of the Nov. 5 rally,” said the report, issued this week by three longtime members of the Brandeis faculty.
The rally, staged by a student group affiliated with the Islamic Jihad political party, attracted international attention when its participants flashed Nazi-style salutes and reenacted the death of an Islamic Jihad member by the Israeli military. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
