A man in his 20s was shot to death early Saturday morning in Dorchester, and two men have been charged with his murder, Boston police said.
Police responded to a radio call for shots fired at 7 Havelock St. around 1:45 a.m., said police spokesman David Estrada. There they found a man in his 20s on the ground and suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police immediately arrested two men bearing firearms—Omar Denton, 29, of Milton and Omar Bonner, 26, of Hyde Park—and charged both with murder, as well as possessing a gun illegally and resisting arrest, Boston police said in a statement
Estrada said this was the city’s 39th homicide this year, the 32nd involving a firearm. By this time last year, 58 homicides had been reported in Boston for the year.
No further information was available, Estrada said, and the investigation is ongoing.
