First finance director named

Marcia Bohinc, town accountant in Hull, has been named Marshfield’s first finance director. The three-member Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to appoint her Monday after public interviews with three finalists. Selectman John Hall said in a telephone interview Tuesday that Bohinc was enthusiastic about new technology and learning new ways to do things. Her references said she was a “team player” who “really wanted to work cooperatively with everyone, which was music to our ears,” Hall said. Bohinc’s salary and start date have yet to be negotiated, Town Administrator Rocco Longo said. She will hold the title of finance director and treasurer/collector. Town Meeting voted in November to add “finance director” to the title of the existing treasurer/collector position to more accurately reflect the duties of the job.
