Former resident recalls Woburn history

Residents can take a step back into Woburn history at a special event Monday at 10 a.m. in the Woburn Senior Center, 144 School St. Bruce Allen will give a talk on Button End, a former neighborhood off of Washington Street through which Route 128 now runs. Allen is an author and storyteller who grew up in Button End and now lives in California. In his talk, he will recall the neighborhood of his youth and its many features, from the Mishawum Manor inn to the Cedar Street school, and the farms, greenhouses, and tanneries that were then part of Woburn’s economy.
