Milton Police will buy a new 2014 Ford Police Inceptor Utility cruiser, thanks to a $45,000 grant. Given by the Department of Homeland Security and the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, the grant will enable the department to replace its nine-year-old police dog cruiser, and help Officer Kristen Chipman and her bomb-sniffing police dog Fozzie to travel throughout Massachusetts, Police Chief Richard Wells said in a memo. Such requests have increased since the Boston Marathon bombings, Wells said. At a Tuesday selectmen’s meeting, town officials said they were grateful for the grant, and pleased to see the dog used so well. “We’ll always take a free car,” said Selectman Chairman Denis Keohane.
