An Orange Line train broke down this morning, causing delays for thousands of commuters, according to the MBTA.
The train broke down shortly before 8:27 a.m. at the Sullivan Square station in Charlestown, according to the T.
A second train was dispatched to pull the disabled train out of the way but was not able to do so, said MBTA spokeswoman Kelly Smith. She said some people mistakenly concluded two Orange Line trains were disabled when only one was.
The disabled train was finally moved out of the way around 9:30 a.m., but Smith said at mid-morning that residual delays were continuing. The cause of the breakdown was not immediately available.
