The city is seeking applicants for the position of planning director. Edmund Tarallo, who has held the post since 2002, recently announced he is retiring effective Feb. 6. Due to accrued vacation time, his last day will be this Friday. The city advertised for the job earlier this month and has set Thursday as the deadline to apply, according to Mayor Scott D. Galvin. In its advertisement, the city listed the salary as $99,306 plus education incentives and municipal benefits for the job, which since 2010 has also included administering the work of the Woburn Redevelopment Authority. Galvin said that he and the city’s human resources director, Jan Robbins Cox, will review the applications. Galvin will then interview candidates and make a selection.
