Volunteers are needed to help get the town’s local-access cable television programming up and running. In April, the Board of Selectmen approved the formation of Southborough Media Access Inc. After months of work, the nonprofit organization presented a corporate structure and set of objectives to the town last week, and selectmen approved a budget for it. The funds are provided through franchise agreements with the town’s service providers, Verizon, Comcast, and Charter Communications, which call for a percentage of subscription fees to be earmarked for local cable programming. Those interested in sharing a hobby, area of expertise, interest, or idea for a locally produced show can e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or check the new town agency’s website, www.sboromedia.org.
