As much of the nation’s attention turned to New York, where newly-minted Mayor Bill de Blasio was being inaugurated on the first day of the new year, officials overseeing Boston’s mayoral transition released new details for this city’s inaugural events next week.

The inauguration of Martin J. Walsh, Boston’s 54th mayor and first new occupant of City Hall’s corner office in two decades, will take place next Monday, with morning swearing-in at the Conte Forum at Boston College followed by a formal, inaugural gala at the Hynes Convention Center.
