Boston man arrested after allegedly stealing vehicle

A Boston man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly stole a vehicle in Roxbury and almost struck an officer while fleeing the scene, police said Monday. Anthony Boyette, 26, is charged with stealing a motor vehicle and assault by means of a dangerous weapon, as well as other offenses after police attempted to stop him in an allegedly stolen car around 2:10 p.m. Saturday. Boyette sped off, striking an unmarked cruiser and almost hitting an officer, said Boston police. No one was injured, police said. A SWAT team later apprehended Boyette at 10 Wilmington Ave., where he had barricaded himself.
