A 58-year-old Braintree man died after his car crashed into a light pole in Dorchester on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
Emergency workers responded to the single-vehicle crash on Morrissey Boulevard just past the Star Market grocery story around 1:30 p.m Tuesday.
The driver was the only person in the car, said Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald. He said firefighters “were able to extricate and begin treating him before EMS got there.”
The man was taken to Boston Medical Center, officials said. State Police reported Tuesday night that the man has died.
No further information was available Tuesday night.
