A Brockton man was charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of another man inside the suspect’s apartment Friday afternoon, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
Joao DeAndrade, 50, was charged in the death of Jacinto Correia, 49, Bridget Norton Middleton, spokeswoman for the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, said in a statement.
On Friday, Brockton Police responded to a 3:33 p.m. call of a stabbing at 55 Prospect St., according to the statement. After they arrived, police found Correia inside the first-floor apartment, unresponsive and suffering from multiple stab wounds to his thighs.
He was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.
Investigators said DeAndrade attacked Correia during a disagreement while the two were spending the day together in DeAndrade’s apartment, according to the district attorney’s statement.
State Police also responded to the scene and are investigating.
DeAndrade is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Brockton District Court.
