The Town Council has endorsed two major repair projects — the replacement of a boiler at the Randolph Community Middle School and the replacement of a ballast roof at Randolph High School. Town Manager David C. Murphy said in an interview that the town is hopeful that about 74 percent of the total cost of over $2 million will be reimbursed through grants from the Massachusetts School Building Authority. Murphy said the repairs will extend the lives of the two buildings. The estimated cost that the town would bear would be $142,159 for the boiler and $430,452 for the 20-year-old roof. Murphy said the spending can be handled within the current budget.
