Finalists for Foxborough town manager job to be announced

A screening committee is expected to reveal its list of finalists for the job of Foxborough town manager on Tuesday, ending a months-long search for a replacement for former manager Kevin Paicos and, officials hope, bringing a close to a contentious era in the town’s history.

It’s welcome news for a community that said goodbye to its easy-going, 30-year executive Andrew Gala in 2010, only to spend much of the next 2½ years embroiled in public clashes with Paicos, 60, a longtime municipal administrator and Army National Guard officer and medic.

“I’m just hoping for someone who will work well with the board, do the job, and do it right,’’ selectmen chairman Mark Sullivan said. “I’m excited about it. Anything else? That’s for the rearview mirror.”
