Arlington residents are being encouraged to provide feedback on a draft proposal for guiding development in town as part of the process of updating the community’s comprehensive 20-year master plan. Public comments about the land-use working paper are being accepted through Jan. 31. The master plan outlines a vision for the town’s public facilities, housing, transportation, economic development, land use, open space, recreation areas, and natural, historic, and cultural resources. Local officials have decided to organize the review process by dividing the issues into five categories, and tackling the challenges and goals for one aspect of the plan each month through May. Land use is on the agenda for this month; next month’s topic is public facilities, according to an announcement by the town’s Master Plan Advisory Committee. More details about the planning process and the land-use working paper, and an online form for providing comments are available on the municipal website, www.town.arlington.ma.us.
