A Wareham man pleaded not guilty today in New Bedford District Court after State Police allegedly found him carrying approximately 200 grams of heroin during a traffic stop in Dartmouth.

Dagostino was a passenger in a car that was stopped by a state trooper Monday morning in Dartmouth. The Audi A6 sedan was pulled over for motor vehicle violations on Interstate 195 just before 11 a.m., State Police said.

The trooper allegedly found 200 grams of “off-white powder” in Dagostino’s possession during a search of the vehicle.

Another passenger, Catherine Murphy, 21, of Plymouth was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant from Wareham District Court for driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage in 2012.

The driver of the Audi was issued a civil citation for motor vehicle violations, police said.
