Trucker severely injured in rollover crash on Mass. Pike in Palmer

A man was severely injured today when the tractor-trailer he was driving rolled over on the Exit 8 ramp off the Massachusetts Turnpike in Palmer, State Police said.

The driver was taken to Baystate Medical Center, Trooper Thomas Murphy, a State Police spokesman, said.

The tractor-trailer, which was carrying salt, rolled over at about 12:30 p.m., leaking diesel fuel onto the road.

The vehicle has been set upright and the ramp is expected to open before 5:30 p.m., State Police said.
