MBTA Transit Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly engaged in lewd behavior on a commuter rail train.
The suspect, described as about 6 feet tall and thin, was riding the inbound commuter rail train from Rockport Station at 8 p.m. Saturday. A female passenger spotted him touching himself inappropriately and notified Transit Police, Transit Police said.
The man boarded the train at Gloucester or West Gloucester Station, and stepped off at Beverly or Swampscott Station. He was dressed in a gray hooded sweatshirt and a flat-brimmed baseball hat, and he was carrying a dark purple backpack, Transit Police said.
The woman snapped a picture of the suspect, which is displayed on the Transit Police website.
“We encourage people to continue taking pictures and video so we can get these people in the court system,” said Joe Pesaturo, an MBTA spokesman.
