A Mattapan man was convicted Tuesday of second-degree murder for the 2011 fatal shooting of Shawn Flores, 29, authorities said. Kendrick Clark, 39, who fled to North Carolina after the shooting, will be sentenced Wednesday morning in Suffolk Superior Court after a seven-day trial. He faces a mandatory life sentence, said Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office. Following a conflict on the night of Sept. 22, 2011, in a rooming house where they both lived, Clark shot Flores repeatedly in the chest and fled, according to trial testimony. There were no witnesses to the shooting, but Flores made a dying declaration that Clark shot him, which was relayed to police.
