HarborOne Bank announced last week that it has renewed its college scholarship program and will offer 10 $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors this spring. Students who live in Plymouth, Norfolk, Bristol, or Barnstable counties and who have an immediate family member with an active account at HarborOne may apply for a scholarship, according to vice president Leo MacNeil . Applications will be accepted until March 31, but only the first 50 received will be considered, MacNeil said in an announcement on the scholarship program. Also, no more than the first five received from a high school will be given consideration, and no more than two scholarships will be awarded to a high school, he said. Evaluation is based upon academic record, community and school activities, recommendations, awards and recognition, an essay, and the application’s appearance. Details can be found at www.harborone.com beginning Monday. Students without access to a computer can call MacNeil at 508-895-1314 to request an application form. The Brockton-based bank has 14 full-service branches and more than a dozen free-standing ATM machines across the region.
