A Dorchester man was arrested after he allegedly shoved a police officer who was asking him to leave the area outside a restaurant in Chinatown early Sunday morning, Boston police said.
Felix Pujols, 24, faces charges of assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest, police said in a statement.
Police received reports of a fight outside the Moon Villa Restaurant on Edinboro Street at 2:45 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, officers witnessed two groups of men shoving each other next to the restaurant’s entrance.
After intervening and separating the groups, officers asked that they leave the area, police said.
One group cooperated, but the other, including Pujols, stayed behind to eat at the restaurant.
The officers repeated that due to their unruly behavior, they wouldn’t be allowed to eat there, police said.
Pujols became “increasingly more aggressive and hostile,” and began physically threatening the officers, police said.
When police attempted to handcuff him, Pujols allegedly shoved the officer, creating a brief struggle before they could arrest him.Catalina Gaitan can be reached at email@example.com. Follow her on Twitter at @catalina_gaitan.
