The North Reading public school district’s Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan has been updated and is now posted on the district website at www.north-reading.k12.ma.us. The document, developed in 2010, was recently updated to reflect a 2013 amendment to state law that expanded the definition of a “perpetrator” and made the plan applicable to school staff. The 22-page document was developed by the Public Awareness and Understanding of Social Education
committee and prohibits bullying, including cyberbullying, and retaliation. The plan also requires the district to set aside time at the start of each school year to train staff on the plan and any updates to the document, and outlines the procedures for reporting and responding to bullying and retaliation.
