A delivery truck dragged a baby carriage for 75 feet after the stroller got caught on the truck at a red light, Lawrence police said.
Anna Rivera, of Lawrence, was walking on South Union Street with her 4-month-old daughter Tuesday morning when she reached a small snow bank on the sidewalk and began walking in the street, said Lawrence Police Chief James Fitzpatrick.
Rivera attempted to squeeze her carriage in between the pile of snow and a truck, which was stopped at a red light. The light turned green, and the car started driving with the carriage hooked to its stairs, said Fitzpatrick.
“It’s a really wild story,” he said.
A witness stopped the truck and Rivera removed the carriage. The baby had no visible injuries, but was taken to Lawrence General Hospital as a precaution. She was later released, said Fitzpatrick.
The driver of the truck is not being charged, said Fitzpatrick.
