A state trooper was injured and taken to Beverly Hospital by ambulance Wednesday afternoon after a car struck his cruiser in front of the Danvers State Police barracks on Maple Street, State Police said.
The trooper was responding to call just after 1 p.m. with his lights and siren on when a car ran through an intersection and hit the passenger side of his vehicle, said Trooper Thomas Murphy.
The trooper was treated for minor injuries at the hospital and later released. His name will not be released at this time, said Murphy.
The accident is under investigation, he said.
