The Boston Globe received 33 awards of excellence and four silver medals from the Society for News Design in the 34th “The Best of News Design” creative competition.
The annual international competition features submissions from all published magazines and newspapers over one calendar year, according to the society’s website. In about 19 categories, traditional and alternative publications are judged on the originality of concepts and the excellence and execution of the design.
“The Globe always does well . . . but this year’s showing is exceptional,” said Dan Zedek, the Globe’s assistant managing editor of editorial design. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
