A Roslindale street became flooded with water today after a fire hydrant valve came loose, authorities said.

“Our crews were in the area replacing a hydrant when one of the shut-off valves became loose,” said Jeanne Richardson, a spokeswoman for the Boston Water and Sewer Department.

Water supply to the area has been temporarily shut off while repairs to the valve are made.
