A Missouri man pleaded guilty today in federal court in Providence to human trafficking charges stemming from his relationship with a teenage girl from Medfield, Mass., whom he convinced to work for him as a sexual escort, selling an hour with her for $40 and two packs of cigarettes.

Stephen Ardrey showed little emotion while pleading guilty before US District Court Judge John J. McConnell Jr. , even when the judge told him that he faced a mandatory sentence of at least 10 years behind bars for each of the two crimes he admitted committing.
