1 firefighter injured, 12 residents displaced in Dorchester blaze

A two-alarm blaze tore through the back of a Dorchester home today, injuring a firefighter, displacing 12 people, and causing an estimated $300,000 in damage, officials said.

Boston firefighters responded to the fire at the two-family home at 24 Freeman St. at 10:19 a.m. The flames were concentrated in the rear of the 2½-story wood-frame home, said Steve MacDonald, a Boston Fire Department spokesman.
