The Brookline Community Aging Network this week is presenting a discussion about how using recreational drugs or alcohol affects the health of baby boomers and older adults. The talk will also focus on the health effects of using such substances combined with prescription or over-the-counter medications. The town’s Department of Public Health and Brookline Adult and Community Education are cohosting the talk Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Brookline High School, 115 Greenough St. Speakers will include Carol Girard, with the state Department of Public Health’s Bureau of Substance Abuse Services, and Dr. Eric Hardt of Boston Medical Center.
