High school students qualify for international business conference

Three Rockport High students — Ginny Lawrence, Anthony Ciamitaro, and Heather MacArthur — recently qualified for the national DECA International Career Development Conference May 3-6 in Atlanta. DECA is a marketing and business club that “prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.” The trio presented a project on financial literacy. Other Rockport students who finished in the top 10 in various categories in a state competition held earlier this month were Jamey Ouellette, Aliza Ottenheimer, Katie Andrews, Ekin Bakkal, and Sarah Rowen
