A car crashed in the parking lot at Melrose High School Tuesday morning, damaging more than a half-dozen other cars before coming to rest, Melrose police said. The driver, who was not visibly injured, was taken to the hospital to be checked out. No one else was hurt, said Lieutenant Mark DeCroteau. Students were “fortunately all inside at the time,” DeCroteau said. He said the crash occurred at about 9:10 a.m. when the car, driven by an elderly woman, left a condo development, drove across the street, over a sidewalk, and through a chain-link fence into the high school parking lot.
