Wareham-based cranberry grower A.D. Makepeace Co. is moving forward with plans to build a new village on about 2,000 acres in south Plymouth.

The proposed development, formerly known as River Run, has been renamed Redbrook and will feature approximately 1,200 homes and 60,000 square feet of commercial space, as well as a new YMCA facility and swimming pool.

Construction is set to begin this spring and will continue over the next decade. The first two neighborhoods will be built by The Valle Group, a company based in East Falmouth.
