A Roxbury man was sentenced to 12 years in prison Monday after being convicted of robbing an Allston convenience store, authorities said. Douglas Savory, 57, robbed the Neighborhood Market on Jan. 29, 2013, and was found guilty of armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon, the Suffolk district attorney’s office said. Police released surveillance footage of Savory forcing a store clerk to open the cash register at gunpoint while a second man grabbed the cash. When arrested, Savory was out on bail for a 2011 case of possession of a Class A substance and was on probation after serving three years in prison for a 2008 armed robbery.
