Red Sox owner John Henry spoke with WCVB-TV reporter Mary Saladna Tuesday night, and offered his support to Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy.
Remy’s son, Jared, is being held without bail while awaiting trial for the murder of Jennifer Martel.
Henry, owner of the parent company of Boston.com and the Boston Globe, told WCVB he supports Jerry Remy, who after taking time off last season, decided to return this season to his long-time role in the broadcast booth for Red Sox games on NESN.
"I've told him, all of us in Red Sox Nation stand behind him," (Henry) said. "It's a terrible thing he's been going through, but we're really glad to have him back."
Jared Remy was the subject of a March 24 Boston Globe article which detailed his lengthy criminal record and the leniency he received through the Massachusetts court system.
